Hi,
I could not believe when I read about Celibidache's death. I was just thinking in posting a debate about his ideas. I have expressed my feelings in a re: somewhere. But, believing I am not 'disturbing' the maestro soul, but contributing to keep him alive in the memory of everyone, I ask:
*Celibidache was, as known, a strong defender of live performances, refusing to record. But we have in the other hand Glenn Gould, which refused to play on stage, only being available (even when alive) thru records*
I would like to know what are your opinions about this. Lately, I have been favourable tp Gould's proposal, for I have seen such worse performances, at the beach (!?) and at a theater. Although, I may never forget a Mozart's Requiem in a live performance and a terrible version recorded of Beethoven's 5th.
