Dear Mr. Tagata,
I am a professional violinist and a great admirer of Celibidache. I was in music school in Philadelphia the year he conducted the Curtis Orchestra. Some of my friends were at Curtis that year and were unanimous in their praise of him. Also my best friend at that time, now a cellist in the Philadelphia orchestra, was the principal cellist of the Schleswig-Holstein orchestra that Celi conducted. He too was very impressed and deeply influenced by him.
His recordings and videos are a great inspiration to me, even though I reject his metaphysical theories. The style of music-making I was taught is very similar to Celi's. Listening to his interpretations make me feel very much at home. He is one of the greatest musicians I have ever heard. Thank you for your fine web site and am looking forward to its completion.
Sincerely yours,
Jorge Corpus
